Fans of the 1980’s TV show the Golden Girls recognize the statement “Picture It Sicily 1920,” as Sophia would begin to tell a story of the how it was when she grew up. I remember that show fondly, but I digress. The topic for today is PICTURING IT. While you might not be picturing the way Sophia grew up in Sicily all those many years ago, you might be picturing the future, something you really want to obtain in the future.
Picturing our desires, wants, needs help us bring them to life. I heard a story during a sermon by Joel Olsten. He was explaining how his mom wanted a swimming pool. His dad kept telling her NO. She kept asking when they would get it. His dad kept insisting they would not be getting one. Her image of that pool was so great she went out to the backyard and measured off the area where she was planning to build that pool, all along his Dad insisting their was no pool to be built. One day some parishioners of Joel’s Dad wanted to thank him for his dedication by building his family a swimming pool. Joel’s Mom imaged that pool, she pictured it, she planned for it and she got her pool.
I learned of this very technique from Catherine Ponder a prosperity author and leader of the Unity Church. She wrote frequently about the power of imaging. You can picture tomorrows dinner or you can picture a new job, as long as you believe in it, you can picture it and it will come to pass.
With Catherine Ponders teachings the Mental Law of Imaging and the success mapping I learned I was able to picture myself a new laptop of which I’m writing this article with right now. My laptop was only one of the many things I’ve pictured that have come to pass since I have begun invoking the Mental Law of Imaging (picturing it).
This method not only works with things you need and desire, it works with your plans for the future. Your personal success starts with mental imaging. Picture it your future.
