Vision Board: Mapquesting Your Life, Dreams & Desires

If you follow the laws of prosperity, the secret or any other prosperity methodology you most likely already employ a vision board (aka treasure map). Thereby, you know the importance of making a vision board.

Those of you who don't have any clue what I'm talking about are sitting there right now going, "What's a vision board?" Great question. A real basic definition is a board that contains all your dreams and aspirations, desires and needs. A tool that allows you to focus regularly on what you want.

I was taught originally how to make treasure maps that allow me to focus on my desires, my wants. When the process was taught to me, a light bulb went off, "OH collages. I remember these; my mom taught me how to make a collage." Well yes and no. My mom taught me how to make a collage. My childhood collage contained a little of everything that I could find. It really had no direction; it had fun photos, lost buttons, stickers, and even miscellaneous skinny toys. It was a piece of artwork for the refrigerator that week.

A treasure map is basically a collage, but with focus! Your collage is about you, your wants and desires. It serves a purpose, it allows you to see these wants and desires on a regular basis. Why is that important? It’s important to visualize your dreams. If you believe you can have your dreams they will manifest. To help you believe you need to visualize on consistent basis. A treasure map is a great tool to use!

The terms treasure map and vision board are interchangeable. They are identical in concept. They just have different names. I learned by treasure mapping. However, that term just never gelled for me. So when I heard vision board, I was like "A HA. Vision Board, that works for me!" I believe the term became widely known by The Secret.

If you want to make a good old fashioned vision board please visit my post how to make a vision board!

Well I have been making vision boards for some time now. I enjoy them. I find they are valuable. I've seen them work for me! My favorite example is the one where I wanted a laptop. So I visualized it daily on my board. Within in less than four months, I had the extra cash set aside so I could purchase the laptop I desired. My second favorite example was the one I made for my dog. She was going to day camp and stay over night in the doggie hotel. We were nervous about her going. We picked out lots of pictures of different dogs and inspiring words for the situation and put them on the board. For one week we all (including my pup wup) looked at the board daily. The result was that she received an excellent progress report, which I think said "she was the life of the party." She is now one of their favorite doggie guests. The employees are excited when she arrives. Once I even went to pick her up early before day camp ended, because I missed her, she was angry. She wanted to stay and play! So as you can see I've had great success with vision boards.

Vision Boards help perpetuate your dreams in methodical yet fun way until they become reality. I like the treasure map analogy. Great article. Thanks for sharing.
